I hooked up the trailer to take it down for inspection today.

I didn't know weather to post in red dog, or scotty thread. I thought just start a new one, for the adventures of peterj, Red Dog and the Broken spoke saloon.  2011.

Hooked up , ready to go.....

I went down to Cook Brs to get a state inspection sticker for the trailer. Its the first time out of the driveway since last fall when I bought it.

It emptied the shop again. Everyone inspected the trailer, even took pictures!  lol

Yes, it passed.

Came home, didn't stop for high priced fuel!

I did make South Bend................

http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum2010/Uploads/Images/c3dad01a-69ba-46f0-88d4-dfaa.jpg

This was my first big show as a participant , I'd stopped at big shows as a day tripper. (not Aths).

This was also the first trip for the Broken spoke saloon (trailer). I packed way too much... but I did forget 2 things, 1; a rain jacket!!! I bought a nice one at ATHS table, they sold out fast..... 2; bug killer, I had a can of repellant and Eddy did too, but I need a spray to kill the flys that came in.  Fly swatter might be good too...

On the road. Being the first trip out, I worried at every sweek, bump, and noise.  After 2 hours I lightened up, by the first fuel stop I was just cruzing...

Problems on the way out.  Turn signals quit, I messed with the flasher and got them working, sort of.  Finally bought a new electronic flasher, all well..

Then the window crank fell off! Set screws work loose. I'll modify this later. Either put a more or larger set screw, or Wayne (359r) seggested , drill it and put a roll pin in it.

The governor; It still hangs up.  If I don't run it into the governor, its perfect..  I just kept it under 68 its fine..  ran mostly 64-66 alls well.

I arrived about 9a tue. lots of trucks ahead of me. Mel was directing traffic, Eddy was helping (another job skill).  I checked in and went to the truck wash. I did beat Michelle to the truck wash and photo line, but she had 2 trucks and a trailer, all in different places...

I went to the parking area...  only 2 trucks in the whole field.. I to;d them we had permission to set up the online division tent and got the extra space......

Eddy arrived with the division staff car (volvo) be fore I was parked. We started to set up, etc...  Then Michelle parked her ranger, told us to save 6 places, and she went to get the BIG ford and trailer. Wayne arrived and parked right next to me.....

I'll continue it a little bit.........................

And then....  things happen so fast... much going on at the same time..

We blocked the trailer, put the tent up (only lost 1 finger), umbrellas , table, chairs, division sign, etc...

Michelle arrived with her big ford and trailer, and Jack Thomas..  Later Tom and TJ George.  Much later Rick Knox, and more.... many more!

Then the show....  I met most of the online group, that came. Can't remember every one, maybe next year we can have a login/sign in page... some lurkers id them self...

Even with the rain , it was a great show.  Not a single sour puss, in our group...  most had a smile from ear to ear...  My brain went into overload... so many people, so many trucks, much to do... everything was a blur...  going by so fast....

For me, the high of the show was meeting the group people in person.  GREAT!!!!

Yes, I even liked Aaron, but I've been to Kalifornia before.. lol

What else can I say , it was great!  I found I missed a lot of trucks. I was taking a lap around the grounds twice a day, but friday and saterday  they were coming in fast.  I missed the whole lot where Chris B was parked, and the lot outside the fence, I looked but they were coming in so fast...  miss a hour , miss 25 trucks.

I think they did good with the change of route and parking due to rain.

We did good on the coffee, but wouldn't have lasted with out Wayne (359r). He brought over coffee and supplyed the cream for the last 2 1/2 days.  Even Eddy brought donuts!!!

I loaned a gas can, to someone I didn't know..  After the day was over I thought it was gone, but he brought it back the next day FULL! We used that the next 2 days for Wayne's generator....

MACKungie Pa,  I packed up thusday to get an early start for friday. I woke up to light rain. I fiddled around , stopped at hess (dunking donuts) , and only left an hour late.

I made good time, rain stopped(after getting slime and water spots on everything), I arrived at 10;15a.  I was personally parked by Mike Fowler.... I think my number was243...

I didn't bring the trailer, I thought for 1 night i'd just sleep in the truck...  big mistake..

After getting the umbrella up and the chairs out, I sat down to test the shade, and make sure the chair was safe....

I think it was a good show. Old friends, new friends, and not so old friends!!! I think these shows are as much about people as trucks. It was great to see people from the board, some I had seen at South Bend, and some came over and introduced them self.. great. I even had some come out and tell me they were lurkers.....

I met a few people I hadn't seen all year from other shows... I do know people who aren't on the board,  lol....

I had ordered a 12v cord for the laptop, but it didn't come.  I survived  48 hr with out logging on..............  I thought I had my camera in the truck, but dummy (me) left it in the trailer.  Its a good thing Eddy took pictures!!!

I made through friday, we blew hot air and smoke (BS ) till dark..
When to bed after dark, in the truck. I woke up at 1230a (old man thing) and went to put my glasses on and popped the lens out of the left side...  i heard it go clink , clink, and thought it fell on the floor near the drivers seat.  Ever try to find something with a flashlight and only one eye... after much looking , I finally found it ,and popped it back in the frame...  By then I had to go P again!  lol

I had another great day saturday!  It was getting hot and  humid by afternoon.  I only saw half the venders, but saw most of the trucks.
After looking at Eddy's pictures, I only missed  10 or 15 out of 450 plus... They had a very good mix,  old, new, restored, unrestored ,custom, large, small ,fire, mil , etc....  something for everyone.

I left around 4, and by time I got home and showered, Eddy was already posting pictures...  The staff car (volvo) must have wings!!

On a scale of 0-10, I'd rate it a good 9...  BTW , very few bugs, I only had to chase 1 fly, and no mosquitoes,or other bites...
