We have an unwritten (and probably unpopular !) rule here that when we run a Mack you have to name the model too. Otherwise they are usually too easy ! I'll give you a hint, it does not have a fire truck designation, so it is not a Type 21. It is the same model as the commercial truck chassis.

Well, that didn't take long. Bill White has this one, a 1929 Mack model BB fire truck owned by our own Charlie Hatfield. Mack had been building fire trucks since 1911 based on their commercial truck chassis, but by the late 20's they had just started the practice of building specific chassis just for fire truck use. These trucks were known as Type 19,21,45,75, 85,95 etc. But Charlie's truck is not one of these, it is mounted on a regular commercial BB chassis modified for fire truck use.  Thanks to Warren Richardson for these interesting photos.
