A pretty significant truck in the grand scheme of things. Name removed. Photo from Don MacKenzie.

You guys are right on with Gersix. That truck and band were advertising for Gersix after Gerlinger moved to Tacoma and before they sold to Kent and Worthington. Right around 1916.

Everyone on the Gersix bandwagon, give yourselves a pat on the back. Louis Gerlinger and sons began building their 1st Gersix in 1914 Portland Oregon. The name is a combination of the Gerlinger name and the fact the truck was powered by a Continental 6 cylinder engine. It is beleived the Gersix was the 1st production truck equipped with a 6 cylinder engine. By 1917 Gerlinger had gone bankrupt and sold the company to Edgar Worthington and Frederick Keen. In 1919 Keen sold his interest to Harry Kent,. At the end of 1922 the name of the company was changed to a name honoring its 2 principals, Kent and Worthington. The new name was Kenworth. Stretch had this 1st; thanks to Don Makenzie for the WAI pic, and Mike W for the color photo of a 1917 model.
