Being married to a truck driver and having traveled all over the country in both trucks and in cars on my way to and from duty assignments I have stopped in a lot of truck stops over the years. During all those years I have seen many changes in not only the truck stops but also the truckers that frequent them. But there is one constant that never seems to change. If you listen closely to what the truck drivers have to say you will soon realize that the one thing that has never changed is the conversation about how fast their truck will go and where they have been and where they are going.  Some things just never change.

Not sure what song that is from. I do have a 45 RPM record by Claud Grey that has the words. "talking about women and stuff like that and how fast them trucks will go."

Ya That is so true: Its funny to hear the many stories I only drove commerically for 9 years, all owner operator. I was a career Flight engineer 30 years and a reserivist in the air guard for 23 years. and every body talked about how fast they were, A car, a Jet, even stories about ramp Tugs, Now how fast are They? maybe 15 mph at the most, I've driven them . But in all my years, when you get there, you wait. to drop to load but in any case you wait, so why drive like a bat out of hell. just to get there and wait! Made no sense to me. Dispatchers, you always know when there lie ing, they open there mouth! First in First out!!! Bull-----. I can't tell ya how many times I was last in first out, and ready for a nap. But couldn't get one, hot load, get it there, okay get there and wait, can't unload you until the morning, our only forklift driver has a hang nail! good I will finally get some sleep. A fellow trucker Sunny
