Gottfredson
By Jeff Lakaszcyck - Friday, January 13, 2012 2:23 PM
We fooled most everyone, except for Warren Richardson. This truck is a Duplex model SAC 3 tonner built between 1929 and 1931. In 1932 the SAC was rated at 4 tons. The first Duplex truck was built in Charlotte, Michigan in 1907, but by 1915 manufacturing was moved to Lansing. Duplex was a pioneer in 4 wheel drive truck production, and built these models alongside their conventional trucks like the SAC. By the time our WAI truck was built most Duplexes were powered by Buda or Hercules engines. The last Duplex came off the line in 1985. Thanks to Don MacKenzie for this ad.
