Looking for some information on crankcase ventilation on a late 74-early 75 VS-478 in a Fleetstar. Bought this truck with an aftermarket Edeklbrock 4-bbl AFB type aftermarket carb. The P.O. had the PCV port on the carb plugged, iIt ran very rough, but it was running on the "varnish" in the tanks. Rebuilt the carb and reinstalled it, Found a hose connected to the bottom of the aftermarket air cleaner went to a tee, then the each valve cover. There is a large tee in the intake below the carb, it is plugged off also. Wondering where the PCV is, and where it hooks to the carb or manifold. thanks in advance for your help.

I have a couple of those here that are all original, they have the odd Holley carburetor on them (below).

I also have several of the Edelbrock Carter style carbs. I will take a look and see how they compare.

In my opinion the PCV was more of an emissions thing,
it wouldn't be exactly perfect but it should run pretty good without a PCV valve hooked up.

If it doesn't there are probably other problems.
