I don't know the answer on an International, but didn't Cummins use a nice gray color in the '40's?

IH also Painted some of there Cummings into the late 70's. My 73 transtar's Cummings is red and I was wondering why it wasn't the regular Cummings color.....

Can someone confirm the paint color for a Cummins engine as installed in a 1949 International Westcoaster. Was it the Cummins old gold or something else. I seem to remember that International painted at least some of the Cummins engines red in the late 1950's and into the mid 1960's.   Ed Chambers

I believe that Cummins used the gray up intill 1952 when the PT pump was put into service then went to the old gold.

Ed, I was talking to Mahoney & Sons today and they said "red" for a '40's International, most other manufacturers used the Cummins gray.
